Kids
in Action is a Dunstable based registered Children's Charity
providing Disabled & Disadvantaged children with the opportunity
to take up & compete in a variety of sporting and social
activities.
Taking
part helps these children to challenge themselves and develop new
skills in a safe supportive environment. It is a great motivator,
helping build
Confidence,
Independence & Pride.
Kids
in Action will be PDM Music’s chosen charity for 2010 with events
and other fundraising activities going on alongside our usual gigs
and shows. It costs about £100 a week to run the Drop
In Centre in Dunstable and PDM want to raise the £450 needed to
cover the costs of the Centre for a month. We believe that the
generosity of the bands and audiences that we work with mean that
this is something that we can achieve.
Paul
Curry, from PDM Music and Third Law, who has Spina Bifida said
“It’s essential that young disabled people get the chance to
challenge themselves and learn the skills they’ll need to live
independently. Being disabled can also lead to kids feeling isolated
and alone, so social activities where they can make friends and
share their experiences are very important. Kids In Action enable
this to happen and we’re happy to help them to continue their
great work.”
